Daddy daddy cool democracy!

So it happened…the prodigal daughter is the Deputy Prime Minister now in Nepal.

The defensive from the prodigal daughter, what some media reported was that daddy made a cool unilateral decision in supposed to be not so cool plural democracy in Nepal. And daddy was cool enough to do in the past also such unilateral decisions despite again not so cool but not bold enough collective opposition from the supposed to be champions of democracy political party in Nepal. So what my daddy decided is cool… daddy daddy cool…I am crazy like a fool…

Somewhere I once read trying to understand functioning of democracy that there is a cause and a causer. Cause is the collective factor and the causer is the individualistic one. If the causer is greater than the cause, then democracy transforms into kleptocracy, aristocracy and if there are words like it, then ‘nepoticracy’ or ‘daddycracy’.

According to Economist Intelligence Unit’s index of democracy 2007 Nepal has been slotted into the category of ‘hybrid democracy’, which is not bad as there are worst categories also like ‘flawed democracy’. But mind you, there are other higher categories which are called ‘full democracy’ also. Nepal is no way that, but the hybrid one which is so much in between and can go either way, upwards or downwards. After all the name of the category itself explains aptly as hybrid. Not full breed… oops sorry!

So folks we have to wait and see…have to be patient as after almost two decades of restoration of democracy also, in Nepal it has not consolidated…maybe daddy daddy cool democracy is what we will have for sometime and then mummy mummy cool democracy and Nepal’s democratic index goes lower and lower…

While we wait where it heads, in the meanwhile, I have to go home tonight and dust off my old CDs of Boney M and CCR with all time hits….Daddy daddy cool and SuoooooziQ!
